Grapevine Sports Photographer

Your athlete deserves the chance to shine

You spend a lot of your resources dedicated to your kids.

Whether it's the time spent at practice or the money spent on clubs and training, you are dedicated to what your child loves. I know the hustle that it takes and the mental math of when to feed everyone on a practice night and we're only three athletes deep in rec sports. Even in all the hustle and bustle, watching your kid come alive doing what they love makes all of those logistics worth it.

Why not take the chance to celebrate the work that your family puts into your kids' sports with photos that celebrate the love that they have for their game? Photo day for your kids' league doesn't have to result in bland photos. Their excitement will shine through during a sports portrait session.

How I can help celebrate the hard work your athlete puts in day in and day out.

1. I'm an athlete myself

As a former athlete and mom of three, I feel very strongly that youth sports are one of the best ways to teach teamwork, dedication, and work ethic to all kids. When a kids learn the physical and mental strength that can come with being part of a team and playing sports, they will use these skills on the field or court now and take them off for years to come.

2. I know natural and artificial light.

Whether we are in a dark gym or on a blazing softball field, I know and understand light. I have lights that I bring to the session to create dynamic portraits of your athlete doing what they love. You can rest assured that your athlete will look as strong as they feel and that can help remind them just how great they are on the days they have a hard practice or game.

3. I know sports.

There are few sports that I don't know more than the basics. I've played soccer, lacrosse, basketball and ran for many years. Over the years, I've been a baseball and soccer mom and worked in Intramural and Club Sports in my pre-photographer days. I know your kids' sport to be able to place them in flattering positions for their position. I won't have your libero spiking the ball or your catcher in the outfield.

““Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take toward reaching that goal.””

How do I book my Sports Portrait Session?

1. Book your session online

All you need to do is click the blue button above, or here, to schedule your sports portraits. My calendar is updated there so you can see when I'm available and pick the day and time that works best for you. After you book, I will reach out to confirm the location in the Grapevine area.

2. Get ready to bring your A Game.

When you arrive at your field, pool, court or wherever you put your miles in, we'll spend some time chatting about your sport and about you. We'll take some posed photos and then we'll do various moves to showcase all of your hard work and talent. I do ask that a family member aged 18 or older come with every youth athlete. And I might ask you to hope in a photo at the end!

3. Pick out your photos

After about two weeks, you will receive an email with a link to your gallery. From there you will select the ten edited, digital images that are included with your session fee. You will be able to upgrade to the entire gallery for $125 and order prints and products to display your family in your home.

FAQ

Do you offer action photography?

Yes! I love coming to watch your athlete do their thing! I can come to your team's match to photograph the whole team or just a few athletes. There is a minimum order of $400 for this. You can reach out to me (awengenphoto@gmail.com) so we can figure out the best game or match for me to attend.

Do you offer this style of photography for leagues?

Yes. I offer dynamic sports portraits for leagues and teams. Reach out at awengrenphoto@gmail.com so we can discuss details.

Do you only photograph female athletes?

No! I am a mom of 2 boys and 1 girl and I have spent a lot of time at Oak Grove Park photographing baseball. As a mom of a daughter and a former athlete, I am passionate about the benefits of athletics for young girls and I want to celebrate that and let girls feel like they are in a mother's presence when being photographed.

What happens if there is bad weather for an outdoor session?

Weather in the DFW area can change on a dime. If we have an outdoor session scheduled and the weather forecast isn't looking great, we will wait until the day of the session to make the final call on rescheduling because we all know how quickly the weather changes.

If our outdoor session has to be rescheduled due to weather, we will work together to find a mutual time in our schedules to re-book, or we can move the session indoors. There are studios for rent in the Bedford and Roanoke where we can create beautiful images of your athlete.

How long does it take to receive our photos?

t is so exciting to get that email that your photos are ready! I deliver all edited, digital images within 2 weeks of your session via email. From the online gallery, you will be able to select the 10 edited, digital images that are included in your session, as well as upgrade to your full gallery and order prints and products.

Where will our session take place?

I love to use the space in which your athlete is most comfortable. We'll do our best to get access to their field or courts. This may take your help in securing access to the location.
